Cray Valley case study: UK relationship paves the way for partnership opportunities in Spain
Cray Valley, the chemicals branch of Total Group, is the second largest manufacturer of resins in the world, generating sales of over 2 billion euros per year (2005). Resin is a hazardous liquid chemical used in the manufacture of many domestic and industrial products and requires careful handling when transported or stored.
As part of a core competency strategy, Cray Valley began working with TDG in 1998. Today TDG transports liquid solvents into the Stallingborough factory, and delivers resin products to customers nationally. In addition to the UK operation, Belgium based TDG Mond also transport Cray Valley finished goods from French factories to customer premises across Germany and Benelux.
And in 2007 when TDG realised its new Spanish warehouse was next door to a Cray Valley storage facility, it made sense to investigate the commercial opportunities straight away.
