Warehouse Shift Supervisors
Bromford Gate - Erdington
We are seeking to recruit Warehouse Shift Supervisors at the Bromford Gate Warehouse in Erdington. Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will have day to day operational responsibility for a 91,000 sq ft with 12,000 pallet locations whilst operating on a rotational shift basis or night shift.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring that Health and Safety is promoted and managed on site at all times and that safe systems of work are complied with.
• Ensure labour costs are in line with actual volume and that all productivity targets are met or exceeded.
• Effective control of labour resource spent by careful management of sickness, absence and headcount.
• Ensuring highest possible customer service levels in line with quality and safety requirements.
• Managing and monitoring compliance with legislative and standard operating procedures.
• Effectively manage and develop the operations team through coaching, mentoring and effective performance management together with effective succession planning,
• To identify and implement, in conjunction with Warehouse Operations Manager’s approval operational process improvements in line with corporate Continuous Improvement Management System (CIMS) philosophy
• Responsible for upholding and improving safety standards and improvements on site.
• Development of a totally flexible workforce through planned training / development of your team’s skills-base.
• Any other duties as assigned by their Manager from time to time.
Skills / Qualifications / Attributes:
• Articulate and numerate with a high level of accuracy
• Highly developed interpersonal skills
• Strong all round communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to form constructive relationships at all levels
• Experience of using, analysing and interpreting WMS systems
• Good all round standard of education
• Awareness of current / essential employment law legislation.
• Ability to work effectively under varying levels of pressure.
• Able to match a least cost resource plan to business needs.
• Able to identify continuous improvement opportunities and manage change.
• Competent use of IT, including MS Office.
