Creating safer workplaces and global supply chains
Taking the health and safety of all people seriously
Good health and safety management protects individuals from harm, saves money and ensures the smooth running of operations. In fact, it’s an essential component of good business and commercial success, and is something TDG has earned an excellent reputation for. Nevertheless, we strive to improve our own performance through empowering employees to create a safer workplace, and measuring our progress against a range of targets.

- We conduct annual Health ,Safety and Quality audits
- We undertake bi-annual environmental assessments
- We undertake audits following an incident or change in equipment or personnel
- Our IT systems ensure records and audits are securely stored
- We hold regular Health and Safety conferences
- All sites display Health and Safety performance statistics
- Senior managers regularly inspect sites and discuss Health and Safety issues with local teams
- We reward individual effort through our Excellence Awards and in TDG’s internal magazines The Juggler and Insight.
We measure our performance against a range of key indicators:
- We record a variety of safety statistics including the number of major incidents, vehicle rollovers, prohibitions imposed on equipment at roadside checks, prosecutions received, and vehicle and workplace accidents
- We examine and act upon the results of FTA equipment inspections, MOT test performance, and our own maintenance system audits and depot assessments
