Marcel van Eck wins the DCIT
For the 7th consecutive time, Marcel van Eck, forklift driver at TDG Wijchen in The Netherlands, has won the prestigious ‘best forklift driver’ category at the Dutch Championship Internal Transport 2010 (DCIT), held at a company in Doetinchem on Saturday 6th of November.
Established in 1995, the DCIT promotes craftsmanship and quality. This year’s championships consisted of five challenges and all drivers had to drive five different forklifts. The most important item on the agenda was safety, but also to drive the fastest time. The judges consisted of experienced specialists who are examiners at CBR (The Dutch Central Buro of driving). Driving accomplishments were measured against the standards in “certificaat vakbekwaamheid heftruckchauffeur” (Certificate Professionalism Forklift drivers).
Walter Kusters, TDG business development manager, says “Marcel is a very talented MHE driver. He completed all the challenges with the least penalties and within the required time, so he officially can say he is the best forklift driver of The Netherlands for 2011. Well done!”
