TDG Invests a Cool £1m in New Refrigeration Plant

Leading international logistics and supply chain specialists TDG has invested £1 million in new energy efficient refrigeration plant in Altens, Aberdeen in Scotland.

TDG’s Regional Manager for Scotland, Graham Hutton, says: “Following the closure of a local cold storage provider, we have shown our commitment to the North East of Scotland and in particular the fishing and meat industries, by providing additional frozen capacity and enhanced blast freezing in the area. ”

The new plant uses ozone-friendly refrigerant and investment in technology means this plant will be one of the most energy efficient across TDG’s network. It will offer significant power savings, yet increased effectiveness of the blast freezing process.

He adds: “We have a well-established portfolio of clients in the region around Aberdeen with a high degree of specialist product expertise. I believe TDG’s investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to support our customer base in the area and also our desire to expand our specialist services.”

As part of its ongoing development process, TDG is expecting to expand the volume of existing clients, while attracting some strategic stockholding into the area from clients elsewhere in the UK.
