Focusing on specialised areas; growing with mainstream customers

Our strategy is to increase our business in the paper and packaging industry, packed and speciality chemicals, supply chain management and freight forwarding and we will channel future investment into these areas.

These are attractive growth markets in which we have specialist skills and are developing positions of strength. Consequently, the portion of our business in the general market, where competition and pressure on margins is intense, will reduce. Acquisitions made during 2006 and early 2007 - including Mond, SCA Transport, Bradship, Brisk and Doman - all reflect this focus and we are seeking further opportunities to expand in these areas.

However, we have many longstanding customers in the general market, a number of whom are leading businesses within their own sectors.

These clients from a vital component of TDG and they recognise us as a top tier performer. We are committed and enthusiastic to grow further with these clients and will continue to invest resources, both people and capital, when needed.
