Using technology to lower your operating cost

TDG's transport management service is more than a concept. It's a demonstrable activity under which we:

  • deliver significant cost savings through supply chain optimisation and economies of scale;
  • show year-on-year improvements in performance aligned to your own strategic goals;
  • create a platform to execute corporate initiatives (health & safety, reduced environmental impact) and support your growth agenda;
  • provide enterprise-wide visibility of information, costs & resources.

We have successfully used this approach for clients such as Corus, the €13bn steel producer where our 34 staff use TDG’s multi-site transport optimiser to manage an annual transport spend of £85m involving some 1500 full loads per day on behalf of 60 business units involving some 30 contractors.

Already this has saved Corus 6% of their transport spend with the potential for 8% in the short term. Further savings are expected in the longer term with the implementation of our continuous improvement programme. Download our Corus case study and read what they said in their newsletter. Take a look at  Motor Transport's review and one of our haulage partner's comments.

We've also recently been awarded an 8-year,  £50m p. a. contract with Aggregate Industries' Building Materials division to manage their UK road transport operations. This will see AIBM’s existing hauliers being contracted and managed by us via a central platform. Read the full press release.
